Women Clear Landmines in Angola

Women can do everything. They fight fires, win World Cups and clear landmines. Good covered a group of women in Angola who are bravely cleaning up the aftermath of war.

As part of a project known as “Women in Demining” by non-profit organization HALO Trust, women in Angola are trained to remove the debris left from their 32-year civil war. After their independence from Portugal, the country experienced a war that went on from 1975-2002.

The job is not only giving Angolans their country back, but it’s giving women an opportunity to be empowered.
