Teen Girl Collects Cell Phones for Domestic Violence Victims

A story out of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania features a 13-year old on a mission to help domestic violence victims.

For the second year in a row, eighth-grader Bella Gonzalez Jenkins teamed up with the Women’s Center in Bloomsburg to collect old cell phones for domestic violence victims to use as emergency cell phones. 

Last year, 180 phones were collected and distributed to women in need. This now annual initiative coincides with Stalking Awareness Month and the issue, which affects 7.5 million Americans every year, is what prompted the middle schooler to take action. Click here to read more on this story.
