Women Face Ageism in the Workplace

Age discrimination in the workplace has been an issue for women that’s gone under the radar. Forbes recently published an article about the topic and went into detail on the reasons behind its lack of awareness or attention in today’s society.

They cited a 2015 study that concluded women not only experienced ageism but that they also experience gender bias, something current age discrimination laws don’t consider. A woman begins to experience age discrimination at 40 years old, while men don’t experience ageism until 45. As a result, women face living in poverty in their older age.
