Women and Family Care Company Maven Expands Services With New Funding

New York based women's and family health benefits provider Maven is expanding its services after $45 million in fundraising from high-profile celebrities and venture capital partners.

Actresses Mindy Kaling, Natalie Portman and Reese Witherspoon, as well as investors Icon Ventures, Sequoia Capital and founder of 23andMe Anne Wojcicki are among those responsible for the influx of cash.

Maven’s benefits focus on women’s health and family planning. They have a customer base of more than 100 companies and 1,700 providers with telehealth services that include shipping breast milk, egg freezing, fertility treatments, surrogacy, adoption and finding a doula.

The Realist Woman’s take:

This is the kind of healthcare women need. The idea of a company providing custom made care for women is amazing and even better, employers from all over have jumped on board to provide women with the care that addresses their specific needs. I am for this.
