Beauty Mogul Donates $30 Million to Empower Black Women
Beauty mogul Courtney Adeleye has donated $30 million to black women entrepreneurs. Founder and CEO of hair care company The Mane Choice, Adeleye partnered with Mav Beauty Brands to create the Generational Advantage Fund to help women of color to create generational wealth.
In an Instagram post announcing her donation, Adeleye wrote, “I’ve been searching for ways to expand my reach to impact even more lives, and it was super important for me to find the perfect partner to continue and expand the work I’ve already started in the community.”
She continued,”The generational advantage fund is designed to bridge the wealth gap for women now and for generations to come by not just alleviating an immediate need but providing resources to build generational wealth.” The fund empowers black women entrepreneurs by providing resources for business ventures, financial literacy, housing and other areas of need.
The Realist Woman’s take:
Adeleye’s fund is one of the most amazing acts of generosity for women of color and black women in particular. Attached to this generosity is an incredible intent to uplift and empower black women with the resources they need to create their own businesses, generational wealth and overall legacies.
This powerful and accomplished woman really does know a thing or two about creating generational wealth. Her 5-year-old daughter Lily Adeleye became the youngest CEO to have her company’s products sold at Target. Her company Lily Frilly consists of lunch boxes, party dresses, bows and backpacks.
With her incredible generosity and investment in black women’s dreams, Adeleye has ultimately secured the financial wealth of black women and their families for many generations to come. She has also instilled the importance of giving back by paying it forward.
